So my iPhone is almost like an extension of my Mac and vice versa. Interoperability: Apple has improved how their products work with each other. I can pinch, zoom, and perform a ton of other actions by swiping. A single swipe and I can see all of my opened programs. Touchpad gestures: This really improved my productivity. Resell: As others have mentioned, Macs retain their value very well. Everything I was working on reappears in the same state prior to a crash. Recovery: When a crash does happen, Macs recover extremely well.

Thank you all so much for your input :) ! I just need it to work reliably and consistently. I'm not fussed about having a pretty machine. Something that won't die within a year b/c of daily use A reasonably sized machine-where I can read the screen with ease, and transport it with something smaller than a backpackĥ. A keyboard that can take a beating (use for work)Ĥ. Something functional and reasonably fastģ. The price is keeping me back.Īre there any functional advantages to having a Mac? Do they work longer (years) than typical laptops? Does the battery life stay long after a year or more of daily (all day) use? Or do they just have great displays and appealing design?ġ. I've been hearing a lot from friends and colleagues lately about how great Macs are, and am tempted to buy one. I'm looking to get a new laptop soon, as my last computer purchase is already failing a year in.
